Dow Chemical Company joins silicone US Advisory Board

Dow Chemical Company has been announced as a recent addition to the Silicone Elastomers US Advisory Board.

The company’s market manager for silicone elastomers in North America, Gifford Shearer, will be representing Dow at the Silicone Elastomers Summit, which features key players from the cleaning products industry. Other members of the Advisory Board include Bosch, Abbott, Momentive Performance Material and more.

The two-day event, taking place at 27-28 June in Cleveland, Ohio, features presentations, insightful panel discussions and networking opportunities. The Summit invites manufacturers, processors, end-users, designers and researchers to discuss silicone elastomer materials, global markets, processing advancements and novel applications.

When asked why this conference is important to the Silicone Elastomers Industry, Gifford shared that "together we can learn from each other on the market drivers that are growing the usage of silicone elastomers and the newest innovations in the industry."

"Silicone Elastomers US Summit offers a unique experience to bring together people from the silicone elastomers industry along with the thermoplastic elastomers industry. These technologies are not necessarily competitive, but offer the opportunity to be complimentary especially in the fast-growing space of multi-shot and multi-material designs. OEMs can benefit by understanding where it is best to use either a silicone elastomer or a TPE and in some cases how to combine both in their designs." Shearer continued.
