Haemoband Surgical and Denroy Plastics are collaborating on an updated version of Haemoband, a device to treat haemorrhoids

Haemoband is a medical device that uses rubber band ligation (RBL) with a new applicator design. The device is said to offers improved clinical treatment and a more efficient and cost effective method of application and patient care, reported the News Letter.

Unlike the original Haemoband product, the new product is comprised of individually moulded bands, a transparent nozzle and a trigger ‘step line’ guiding the user throughout its application.

The product is manufactured in Denroy’s new clean room which was built following a £3m investment in 2015.

The two companies also worked together on the previous Haemoband and exported the device to over 50 countries according to the News Letter.
