Collaboration to advance development and testing of medical tubing announced

A collaboration to create a silicone extrusion line has been announced by silicone materials manufacturer Bluestar Silicones and extrusion company Graham Engineering Corporation.

Graham Engineering Corporation will lend equipment such  and expertise for the extrusion line being created at Bluestar Silicone’s technical centre in York, Pennsylvania.

The site includes state-of-the-art clean rooms and enhanced quality systems and also serves as Bluestar’s global center of excellence for healthcare, medical and long-term implant grade silicones.

The collaboration will hopefully benefit customers of both companies by allowing them to learn more about silicone materials, silicone extrusion equipment and processing.

“When cutting-edge materials, equipment, and processing expertise convene, it creates a rich environment for development and learning. We believe this is a unique opportunity to ally with Bluestar Silicones and that it will cultivate learning to benefit not only both organisations and their customers, but also the industry,” said Steve Maxson, Graham Engineering Corporation’s business development director, extrusion.
