Clariant to extend manufacturing operations to MENA region

by

Clariant and its Healthcare Packaging unit will participate in the CPhI Turkey exhibition being held June 1– 3 at the Istanbul Congress Center (Stand C81).

The chemical specialist company will use the event to focus attention on its global manufacturing footprint and capacity to serve pharmaceutical customers in the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region.

Clariant develops and manufactures packaging technologies that help to protect pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and diagnostics from moisture and oxygen, the two major pathways to degradation. These include such standard products as desiccant canisters and packets, as well as tubes and desiccant stoppers.

The company says its manufacturing operations in France, and China, are well positioned to serve the MENA region’s growing demand for different types of medical supplies and generic drugs and, consequently, high-quality, sophisticated packaging solutions that help ensure product safety. The newest site in Cuddalore, India, which comes online in 2017, will further enhance the supply chain to this market.

“Business Continuity Planning or BCP is critical to our pharmaceutical stakeholders who are more and more requiring that we have strong contingencies,” said Matthias Brommer, vice president and head of Clariant Healthcare Packaging. “Accordingly, we have developed a global infrastructure that ensures that we are prepared to deal with any market or operational disruptions.”

Among the products Clariant will be featuring at CPhI Turkey are drop-in canisters and packets, tubes and stoppers, and oxygen protection.
