Chinaplas 2018 to host a range of engaging events

Chinaplas is moving location next year and will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Hongqiao, Shanghai on 24-27 April 2018.

The new venue is expected to include 30% more exhibition space, allowing the show organisers to include new zones to accommodate rising market demands.

Adsale’s general manager, Ms. Ada Leung, said: “From 2012 onwards, Chinaplas has faced the problem of space shortage. Previously, when we held the show at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in Pudong, we had used up all the indoor exhibition halls. We even built outdoor temporary exhibition halls, but still couldn’t meet the huge demand from our exhibitors. By moving to the new venue, NECC, Adsale can fulfil the strong demand for exhibition space immediately. This relocation to the new venue is also good for the long-term development of Chinaplas.”

"Chinaplas 2018 will not only accommodate more exhibitors, but will also have better management in the set-up of theme zones, country/region pavilions, and concurrent events. We believe that visitors will have a new, high-quality visiting experience,” Ms. Leung said.

The show is introducing a 3D Technology Zone and a Thermoplastic Elastomers & Rubber Zone to cater to both of the rising industries.

For those interested in 3D printing and smart manufacturing, visitors can attend the 3rd Industry 4.0 Conference.

Chinaplas is also introducing a Thermoplastic Elastomers & Rubber Zone to the Chemicals and Raw Materials Zone. The new zone is expected to attract over 70 suppliers to showcase their latest developments in the field.

More so, the event will feature more than 80 technical seminars covering a range of different sectors including "Innovative Automotive Seat Materials Forum 2018", "Automotive Lightweight Materials & Application Technology Seminar", "Low VOC Automotive Materials Technology & Application Seminar", "Application of Plastics in Transportation Protection Packaging Technology Summit", "E&E Manufacturing New Materials Technology Forum & Matchmaking Conference,” and much more.

Chinaplas will also feature “Tech Talk” for the second year running, which is a platform for international exhibitors to launch their state-of-the-art products.

The last edition of Chinaplas featured more than 30 well-received talks, which provided visitors with valuable knowledge. This year, “Tech Talk” will shed light on a wide range of topics, including:

  1. “Smart Manufacturing” which wil offer insights into automation/robotics, micro-injection molding, digitalization/informatization, in-mold labeling, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and 3D printing.
  2. “Innovative Materias" which will look at lightweighting, thin-wall moding, micro-foaming, multi-functionality, spray-free, anti-UV, anti-bacterial, and flame-retardant materials, etc.
  3. “Green Soutions” which will focus on sustainability and topics such as biodegradable materials, low VOCs, energy saving, and recycling.

“Our team has always upheld the spirit of continuous innovation, which is very important for the plastics and rubber industries. We believe that our exhibitors and their advanced technologies, combined with the show’s concurrent events and on-site services etc., will bring an extraordinary new experience to visitors. We urge you not to miss the show next year.” Ms. Leung concluded.
