Brazil exceeds expectations at Medica 2016

At Medica 2016 Brazil represented its healthcare industry with 47 companies.

The companies who participated were members of a project run by ABIMO (Brazilian Medical Devices Manufacturers Association) in partnership the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, Apex-Brasil.

Now it has been revealed that the country’s participation at Medica exceeded expectations. The exhibitors made more than 2,000 contacts over the show’s four days, resulting in $348,000 of confirmed deals and a forecast of $12 million of business over the next year.

ABIMO’s manager of marketing and exports, Clara Porto said:

“We worked around the clock on the image of Brazil’s 15th anniversary Medica edition and that helped us a lot with trade promotion”.

Carlos Melo, the CEO of Corcam Tecnologia, a company specialising in heart monitoring devices and participating at Medica for first time was pleased with the show, saying: “We made important contacts with possible partners in countries like Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and India. One of the big German heart monitoring companies felt there was big partnership potential in our monitoring system”

The company presented a smart cardiac health monitoring system with the ability to detect potential heart events early.
