An update from DuPont regarding Covid-19 pandemic

Eugenio Toccalino, general manager from DuPont Transportation and Industrial, has released a statement in response to the current global crisis. 

The organisation claims it is continuing “to monitor the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) around the world” and that its “thoughts and concerns go out to those impacted by the virus and to the frontline response personnel.”

In order to protect employees and stakeholders, DuPont has issued guidance on travel and remote working, alongside other precautions.

Additionally, the healthcare silicone team, part of the DuPont Transportation and Industrial business, is continuing to work and support customers and supply chains with shipping/logistic optimisation, as well as contingency planning.

The Healthcare Industries Materials Site (HIMS), located in Hemlock, MI, is regarded as part of the nation’s critical infrastructure under guidelines issued by the United States Department of Homeland Security for essential businesses and industries. Therefore, this site is continuing to operate based on current guidance and executive orders.

All around the world, DuPont employees are working every day to deliver essential personal protective garments to those managing Covid-19 response, as well as working to supply customers with silicones and resins to manufacture life-sustaining products such as respiratory masks, face shields, hand sanitisers and silicone tubing to process medicines and vaccines.

The company takes hope from the fact in China, many DuPont colleagues previously faced similar challenges, however, they are now able to operate again.

DuPont’s statement concludes: “Together we can make a difference.”
