AMI organises polymer events

AMI's international conference on polymers in Barrier Pharma Packaging 2014 will take place October 14-15, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Princeton Hotel, in Princeton, NJ.

This event focuses on polymers in drug and pharmaco-biologics packaging including blister, stick, strip and bottles.

According to the company: “there is a growth of biologics in the market and these require a re-think in terms of packaging and protein interactions.”

“Barrier Pharma packaging 2014 brings together pharmaceutical experts and polymer suppliers, it aims to cover all aspects from innovative pharmaceuticals and how to package them, to packaging standards.” The company added.

Currently the pharmaceutical industry is facing ever-increasing demands on drug packaging.

According to Barrier Pharma Packaging there is also a big issue with fake pharmaceuticals entering the market, however this is being combatted by the introduction of traceability and inbuilt anti-counterfeit measures in packaging.

The conference will be a great chance to network and debate these issues and many more with experts in pharmaceutical packaging specification, design, manufacture and testing along with polymer producers and machinery suppliers.

Applied market information (AMI) has also organised a Polymers in Drug Delivery Devices conference taking place on September 16 – 17 at the Hilton City Avenue Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The international event focuses on parenteral drug administration such as non-oral routes of pharmaceutical delivery; including pre-filled syringes, bags, tubes, inhalers and implants all of which leach active ingredients.

AMI said: “The conference provides an opportunity for pharmaceutical companies to meet with the device industry and medical experts.”

“They will have the chance to discuss the latest developments in markets, technical and regulatory issues, and review quality production technology for drug delivery devices,” the company added.

Speakers of the conference are invited free of charge and will have a 30 minute slot including fiveminutes for questions.

Papers are invited on all aspects of this topic, but are required to send a short summary of their presentation in PowerPoint format to Dr Sally Humphreys. Email: sh@amiplastics.com.
