American Society of Mechanical Engineers launches new additive manufacturing event

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is hosting the AM Medical: Additive Manufacturing & 3D Innovations event on May 27th-28th at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

This new event will focus on 3D innovations in an interactive, collaborative environment for both learning and sharing. Participants will have the opportunity to see and hear more about lots of topics including; the latest advancements in 3D printing, materials, quality processes, scanning and visualisation, new software solutions for post-processing, modeling and simulation.

Richard Laudenat, president of ASME, an organisation which promotes the art, science and practice of multidisciplinary engineering around the globe, said: “There is an incredible demand for advanced healthcare solutions that impact patient care and operational efficiency.”

“We are fueling collaborations that will unlock future growth opportunities and improvements for patient care,” Laudenat added.

“NCDMM/America Makes is pleased to collaborate with ASME in this important event in the healthcare application space,” commented John Wilczynski, executive director of additive manufacturing company, America Makes. “We are excited by this opportunity to engage with the additive manufacturing medical community — leveraging our collaborative innovation model and our broad membership community with the needs of the medical solution providers.”

In addition, the additive manufacturing medical advisory panel includes representatives from:

“New technologies deserve new approaches,” concluded Debbie Holton, ASME’s managing director of industry events. “We’re excited to offer attendees a comprehensive look at new 3D technologies and an engaging environment with experts sharing experience and discussing practical solutions. This conversation will continue beyond the AM Medical event as ASME will offer ongoing resources including online learning, webinars, certifications and more.”
