Official Handover of First EcoPower Assembled in Hungary to Nolato Hungary

On December 4, an official ceremony was held at WITTMANN Robottechnikai in Mosonmagyaróvár to celebrate the handover of an EcoPower 180/130 to Nolato Hungary. This was the first machine from the EcoPower series assembled at the Hungarian facility of the WITTMANN group.

WITTMANN Hungary has been an important production site of the WITTMANN group for robots and temperature controllers since 1997. The plant is also equipped with extensive sheet metal processing facilities and delivers machine frames and control cabinets for the WITTMANN BATTENFELD machine series. In 2013, the production capacity was extended by adding manufacturing equipment for low-cost series production of injection molding machines. The initial capacity is laid out for an annual production of 200 machines from the servo-electric EcoPower series.

This machine series with clamping forces ranging from 55 to 300 t was successfully launched in September 2009 and has achieved excellent sales figures ever since. The EcoPower stands out primarily by its high standard of energy efficiency, precision, cleanness and process reliability. The deceleration energy of the drive systems, normally returned to the power supply network by an elaborate process, is used by the EcoPower entirely within the machine to provide the necessary voltage for the control system and for barrel heating.

The machine officially handed over to Nolato – a long-standing WITTMANN BATTENFELD customer – is an EcoPower with 180 tons clamping force and a special automation package. It is also equipped for high-speed injection. This first machine produced in Hungary is the sixth EcoPower delivered to Nolato in Hungary. With this machine, Nolato is extending its production capacity for medical parts at its plant in Mosonmagyaróvár. In addition, WITTMANN BATTENFELD is supplying several fully automatic production cells to manufacture parts under clean-room conditions.

Nolato Hungary Ltd, based in Mosonmagyaróvár, has an ultra-modern production plant equipped with injection molding machines ranging from 25 to 700 tons in clamping force and manufactures primarily high-quality, single- and multi-component plastic products for packaging, medical technology and many other branches of industry. The all-electric machines from the EcoPower series are of special interest for Nolato due to their excellent suitability for clean-room production, which is often required in the medical technology sector, and for their high energy efficiency.
