MEDIPACK Includes PETG Film Extrusion to Increase its Core Business

Swiss medical packaging manufacturer MEDIPACK has announced that it has invested in an equipment to enable it to offer in-house extruded PETG film products.

The announcement, written exclusively for Medical Plastics News, is published below.

MEDIPACK is known for complete solutions in high-quality medical packaging. Beginning with development, rapid prototyping and sampling, up to a blister production in clean- room area, with reliable sealing technology, MEDIPACK provides a complete set of packaging services.

In order to meet the continuously increasing requirements of medical and pharmaceutical industries MEDIPACK built production lines with a high standard of cleanliness controlled production conditions and a full sustained traceability from raw materials up to the finished product. Following this consequent idea started to increase once more its own in-house production depth with the own production of PETG film.

With the commitment in the specialisation on PETG in the extrusion production line, we are able to improve the quality of PETG- Film up to a high grade of pureness without foreign particles.

The investigation in increased in-house production depth results for our customers in a cost reduction, because of not applying costs of transport and trade margins of distributors. This is the difference: MEDIPACK is able to produce a whole packaging system continuously under controlled conditions, traceable from granulate to the sterilized and sellable package right off one hand. That is: Quality made in Switzerland.

All core- elements of the extrusion process are automated to run even small production- lot with a high quality level by reaching tightest tolerances. In order to protect the PETG film from contamination, the process runs under controlled conditions in a clean-room area.

With this innovative project MEDIPACK has won the Innovation Prize 2013 and investigated once more in trendsetting technologies. This investigation results in extensive expertise and improved flexibility together with improvements in product quality of medical packaging. This is MEDIPACK´s investigation in a fundamental base for a continued and successful future.
