Polygon Composites Technology, a producer of composite tubing, bearings, and cylinders will be exhibiting its PolyMed Composite Medical Tubing for surgical applications at Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West 2020.
PolyMed Composite Tubing is suitable for use in a large range of medical applications such as electro-surgical devices (both monopolar and bipolar), surgical ablation tools, suction irrigation or trocar cannula, endoscopic/laparoscopic instruments and robotic surgery technologies.
The tubing claims to be lightweight and strong, as well as being invisible to X-ray, thermally insulating, and non-conductive. The material can also act as a drop-in replacement for stainless steel tubing in a variety of endoscopic and laparoscopic instrumentation applications.
Additionally, PolyMed is ISO-10993 compliant and able to be sterilised. Customisation is also possible and the components are tailored for each project - the material can be rigid or flexible according to the needs of the client.
“Polygon works closely with medical device design engineers,” says Ted Wallace, director of sales and marketing at Polygon. “Our engineering-team provides their knowledge and experience in composite science to assist customers in selecting the best manufacturing process, architecture, formulation and finishing to produce the ideal application for their project.”
Polygon will be on booth 2246 at MD&M West which is taking place from 11th to 13th February 2020 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
