Global supplier, Dunn Industries, is promoting its innovative tubing solutions during the event.
Dunn Industries, a Tekni-Plex business unit, manufactures precision multi-lumen tubing for steerable catheters which are commonly used for robotic surgery and laparoscopic devices. Recently the tubing has also been used for applications such as endovascular devices. This type of tubing includes one or multiple inner lumens for working channels, and small lumens around the perimeter which are used for steering wires.
Additionally, Dunn also manufactures custom medical tubing for diagnostic and interventional devices from a wide range of thermoplastics including polyether block amides (PEBAs), thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), polyamides and polyolefins.
The company’s tubes are available in a range of configurations including single and multi-lumen, coextruded layers and stripes, and longitudinal wire or fibre reinforced. The tubes possess diameters as small as 0.008 inches (outer diameter) x 0.004-inches (inner diameter), and diameters as large as 0.480 inches.
Dunn’s mandrels are used globally by medical catheter manufacturers in order to retain critical lumen tolerances during the manufacturing (extrusion, braiding, coiling and jacketing) of minimally invasive catheter shafts. Low friction material properties and ultra-smooth surfaces allow these mandrels to be easily removed after catheter shaft assembly. They are available in precise diameters from 0.020 to 0.250 inches with tolerances as low as +/- 0.0005 inches.
Dunn Industries are on stand F12 in hall 8a during Compamed, which is taking place from 18th to 21st November in Dusseldorf.
