Trelleborg Healthcare & Medical exhibits polymer solutions for healthcare and medical devices, and pharmaceutical and biotech applications, at MD&M Minneapolis in Minnesota, 10-11 October 2023, in Booth 3202.
On display are solutions offered by Trelleborg’s Innovation Center which reduce manufacturers’ time to market. Also featured are Trelleborg’s capabilities in biopharmaceutical processing, thermoplastic injection moulding, tubing, hose, moulded parts, multicomponent and micromoulding offerings.
Chris Tellers, global technology director, healthcare & medical, says: “For healthcare and medical innovators looking to create high-performing products and measurably reduce go-to-market timelines, our team at the Innovation Center can create samples in days, enabling multiple design iterations to be tested to confirm effective production and rapid scale up. Engineers and product innovators get direct access to some of the best minds in materials science, design for manufacturability, tooling and prototyping, plus proven processes for improving critical outcomes in development and manufacturing.”
Another highlight is Trelleborg’s BioPharmaPro range for individual single-use fluid path components, complex assemblies and full biopharmaceutical systems. BioPharmaPro products are manufactured from a wide portfolio of polymer materials meeting functionality, cleanliness and sterilisation, and regulatory requirements.
Mike Urbanski, business development manager for biopharma, says: “The combination of polymer materials expertise, advanced manufacturing processes, innovative engineering and quality assurance provided through BioPharmaPro enables us to provide unsurpassed support to accelerate the business of our biopharmaceutical customers. It adds value for customers through our one-stop shop for integrated solutions, from simple products to complex assemblies, allowing system suppliers to focus on drug development while outsourcing the product engineering and consolidating their supply chain.”
Also on display are moulded parts used in implantable healthcare and medical devices alongside multicomponent and micromoulding capabilities.
Andrew Gaillard, global commercial director, Healthcare & Medical, notes: “One of our most successful capabilities is the combination of liquid silicone rubber (LSR) with plastics. Commonly referred to as 2C or 2-shot, multicomponent injection moulding enables our LSR experts to employ highly sophisticated tool and process engineering to develop innovative solutions that combine two or more individual materials into one fully bonded, robust component.”
