Health technology company Philips has announced a new partnership with the British Lung Foundation (BLF), becoming one of the founding members of the Living Well Alliance, created to bring together companies which offer treatments, services or products that support people with chronic lung conditions.

The partnership is to help those suffering from chronic lung conditions, make informed choices about managing their condition. The majority of lung conditions in the UK aren’t curable, but symptoms can be managed and quality of life improved.
Long-term lung conditions affect a fifth of the UK population. Lung diseases such as COPD and asthma are responsible for over 700,000 hospital admissions and over 6 million inpatient bed-days in the UK each year.
Jason Carter, director of fundraising British Lung Foundation said: “The British Lung Foundation is pleased to have Philips as one of the founding members of our Living Well Alliance. One in five of the UK population have been diagnosed with a lung disease. We hope our new Living Well Alliance will give those who need lung-health support a simple, single access point to some of the best companies in the country.
