Industry body Medilink has announced that following a wearable technology workshop in May, the Open University is providing £15,000 of seed funding for a project (or multiple smaaller projects) that address some of the challenges identified.
The Open University (OU) is a delivery partner in the ACTIS (Advanced Clinical Technology Innovation Support) project, led by Medilink East Midlands. The ACTIS project, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and led by Medilink East Midlands, delivers a range of innovation focused activities to support SMEs in SEMLEP - find out more here.
The funding provides an opportunity for successful applicants to access the expertise and facilities at the OU. Medilink says that the project could be a piece of consultancy work or a collaborative project, and can cover up to 75% of the cost of the project, (the rest can be covered either by cash or an in-kind contribution).
Applications will be reviewed and the project(s) selected for funding will start in August 2017
