The facility will be purpose built for medical devices and will double the company’s footprint in the area. It will also integrate the company’s three Knoxville buildings into a single site of operations.
Speaking about the announcement, Joe Davin, president of Scapa Healthcare, said: “We are excited to increase our footprint in Knox County to meet increased market demand. We look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on this community as we continue promoting job creation in the region.”
It’s expected that the new facility will create over 100 jobs in Knox County over the next five years. The building is being strategically designed for efficient workflow and materials movement across the cleanroom, printing, packaging and warehouse departments. Scapa Healthcare states that the layout of the facility creates ample development space to accommodate increasing demand for medical device manufacturing.
"Scapa Healthcare is significantly committed to the region, strengthening growth and job creation within the community. We are excited to bring all of our Knoxville operations together under one roof to meet increased market demand and to continue providing our customers with innovative solutions for the medical device market." Davin continued.
