Medical device manufacturer Medtronic is to close its Crospon operation in Galway, the Irish Times reports.
Crospon specialised in devices that diagnose gastrointestinal conditions with production expected to move to other Medtronic facilities, including in Galway.
Medtronic had acquired Crospon a year ago but the site is expected to be closed over the next 12 months.
A Medtronic spokesman was quoted in the Irish Times, saying: “We recognise the strong work, dedication, and quality of the Crospon team. We are providing employee assistance to help affected employees through the transition.”
