Amcor, a specialist in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, has announced that their Winterbourne site has achieved ISCC+ certification.

This brings Amcor’s total number of ISCC+ certified sites to 27, aligned with the packaging company’s sustainability pledge to develop all its products be recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025 and to significantly increase its use of recycled content.
ISCC PLUS is an internationally recognised framework that makes it easier to use recycled and bio-based content, and to verify associated claims. For Amcor Flexibles Winterbourne, sourcing these mass balanced materials supports the transition to a circular economy and helps to reduce the use of virgin fossil materials.
The Winterbourne site primarily produces packaging for the healthcare sector. With the new ISCC+ certification, healthcare companies further down the supply chain can benefit from more sustainable packaging. Certified packaging solutions available from the site include SureForm thermoforming films for medical devices, AmSky recycle-ready pharmaceutical blister packs, and packaging using Dupont Tyvek material.
“This certification reaffirms our commitment to increasing the use of bio-based and recycled content in our production,” said Virginie Maes, vice president global flexibles healthcare for Amcor. “The ISCC PLUS certification enables us to support our healthcare customers to strengthen their sustainability claims and increase the use of circular content in their packaging.”
