UK manufacturer, Broadwater Mouldings, part of the Betts Group, has been granted Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status.
According to the UK Government, “AEO status is an internationally recognised quality mark that shows your role in the international supply chain is secure and customs controls and procedures are efficient and meet UK and EU standards.”
This news comes as the United Kingdom makes its final preparations to depart the EU in December this year and achieving AEO status grants the company many privileges regarding border control. What this means is that essentially the customs checks have already been carried out, following a 120 day auditing process, meaning that Broadwater’s products meet the required standards for exporting. Therefore, potential export delays can be avoided, and consistent delivery deadlines can be achieved as the products can effectively be waved through with very little intervention from border control.
Talking about this news, group finance director, Mags Humphrey, said: “Organisations around the world are recognising AEO, and we join an elite group of companies who have passed the rigorous entry requirements.”
Broadwater specialises in moulding high quality Fibre Reinforced Plastics (FRP) and fabricating finished assembled FRP components for a diverse portfolio of global customers. The company supply FRP for a range of sectors including parts for high end medical imaging and treatment systems. This means that a simple supply chain is vital in order to ensure both high standards and service.
Humphrey concluded: “AEO status demonstrates both Broadwater’s commitment to the security of our sites and movement of goods, and also shows that our customs controls and procedures are efficient and compliant. It works alongside our other standards to further demonstrate our commitment to excellence.”
