EcoDrive is the name of the frequency inverter regulation system, which WITTMANN is developing step by step for its complete range of auxiliary appliances.
For the first time at the Fakuma 2024, the Aton plus segmented wheel dryers will be available with EcoDrive. Here, EcoDrive will continually adjust the dry air output dynamically to the current material requirements. The decisive parameter is the quantity of material being fed into the drying silo. In cases of extremely low material consumption or machine standstills, the material protection function installed as standard in the Aton plus and EcoDrive work hand in hand to achieve the lowest possible energy consumption. This cuts the operating costs and simultaneously improves the ecological footprint. In this way, Aton plus with EcoDrive and a high utilisation rate pay off within no more than one to two years.
Constant low dew point
An additional contribution to the extremely high energy efficiency of the Aton plus segmented wheel dryer is made by its dew point regulation system. In combination with a dew point sensor, EcoMode calculates the optimal regeneration process for each type of material and automatically reduces the regeneration cycles to the necessary frequency. Compared to standard operation without EcoMode, where the segmented wheel rotates without interruption and must be regenerated continuously, the dryer’s energy requirements are significantly reduced without any effect on the drying performance. A constant, low dew point of -40 °C is maintained.
Easy, straightforward operation
The segmented wheel dryers from the Aton plus series come with a 5.7" touch screen. Material conveyors can be integrated very easily. The specific drying parameters for each material can be saved in a material database and downloaded for every material change. In this way, the correct drying parameters are always readily available, and the risk of input errors is reduced. The AmbiLED status display on the front of the mobile dryer informs the operator about the appliance’s current operating status at any moment, even from a considerable distance.
All ‘plus’ models of the WITTMANN auxiliary appliances are prepared for integration into Wittmann 4.0 work cells via “plug & produce”. For data exchange with injection moulding machines of all brands, an OPC-UA interface is available as an option.
