The MedAccred program continues to provide value to medical device manufacturers that have been awarded its accreditation for critical manufacturing processes, according to a recent customer survey. 85% of respondents say the accreditation added value to their business.
Further analysis reveals that 76% benefited from improved quality following their involvement in the MedAccred program. 71% of respondents saw a reduction in their in-house defect rates, with some of those reductions being as much as 25%. Meanwhile, 65% realised improved process efficiency, and 59% benefitted from a reduction in defective product escaping to their customers.
In terms of business outcomes, 85% of respondents reported improved customer satisfaction, and 61% attributed revenue growth to their MedAccred Accreditation, with 70% of those enjoying revenue growth even during the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain challenges. 52% of all respondents also won new business from current or new customers, according to the research conducted by the MedAccred program among MedAccred-accredited Suppliers.
Vice president of MedAccred, Bob Lizewski, said: “It’s clear from the survey that companies continue to agree that their hard work to achieve MedAccred Accreditation can result in enhanced device quality and improved business growth, as well as perform a key role in assuring patient safety. Importantly, the findings also suggest that MedAccred-accredited companies are more resilient and likely to succeed during supply chain difficulties, such as those experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The survey was developed by OEM Subscribers, which comprise the MedAccred Management Council, with the goal to improve the program and provide better support to accredited suppliers.
