Since its founding in 1982 as Erie Molded Plastics, the company has been providing OEM and distribution customers standard and custom injection moulded products and integrated packaging solutions.
EMP remains a family-owned and operated business, constantly striving to fulfil its motto to deliver "Big Company Capabilities backed by Small Company Values."
"Phil Tredway founded the business in 1982 with a vision to always put the customer first. We continue to embrace that vision and make the significant investments in our business to allow us to meet and exceed our customer’s expectations," stated Tom Tredway, president of Erie Molded Packaging. "Reflecting on forty years, I also recognise how our agility and strength in embracing new technologies has helped us to remain a leading choice in the rigid packaging industry."
The former Erie Molded Plastics and its EMP Closures division recently rebranded themselves as a single entity Erie Molded Packaging (EMP). The company’s new name better reflects its diverse capabilities to provide a line of standard caps and closures as well as custom packaging solutions to industries from global CPG to regional food manufacturers. The rebranding effort coincides with the company investing over $4 million in new equipment and senior managers over the past two years designed to facilitate a growth in sales of 77% while maintaining their industry-best lead times.
