Coveris, a European packaging manufacturer, announces the appointment of Martin Berlekamp as group sustainability director.
A few years ago, Coveris launched its No Waste sustainability strategy, committed to fighting waste in all forms. As part of this journey, Coveris recently launched its recycling business, ReCover. The onboarding of Dr. Martin Berlekamp, a sustainability expert, completes the Coveris set up, ideally positioning the company to execute its entire Environmental Social Governance (ESG) agenda and achieve its aspiration to become a sustainability leader.
Martin Berlekamp who earned a doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Münster, Germany, brings with him a wealth of industry expertise and a proven track record in sustainability and ESG. Previously spearheading the sustainability department at the adapa Group (formerly Schur Flexibles), Martin has consistently driven effective sustainability initiatives for over five years.
His extensive journey in the global packaging landscape encompasses pivotal roles in Research & Development (R&D), Product Management, and Technology Development at industry specialists such as Klöckner Pentaplast and Liveo Research (former Bilcare Research). Berlekamp was and will continue to be deeply engaged in shaping the packaging sector's future through active participation in major industry associations and task forces.
