The company have demonstrated its new NuSil brand, which highlights the company’s merger with medical silicone provider, NuSil Technology last year.
Avantor’s Nusil brand medical-grade liquid silicone rubbers (LSRs) are designed for liquid injection moulding of precision components for implantable, potentially lifesaving devices.
The new LSRs feature more efficient rheometry or “cure profiles” and more consistent viscosities. Avantor state the new LSRs produce better in-mould performances, including minimal scorch, more efficient fills, lower flash, shorter cure times and less waste in manufacturing.
The LSRs have also been formulated with a focus on processing parameters and feature lot-to-lot consistency for highly predictable, reliable manufacturing results.
Visitors to Avantor’s booth will be able to hear about the company’s plans for the global supply of high-purity materials to the life sciences and advanced technology markets.
Michael Stubblefield, CEO of Avantor said: “Together, our global team looks forward to continuing our commitment to pioneer, in close partnership with our customers, the next generation of life sciences and advanced materials products.”
Corey Walker, executive vice president, Biomaterials and Advanced Technologies said: “Working closely with OEMs, fabricators, equipment manufacturers and toolmakers, we developed these LSRs through longstanding collaboration and effort with our customers, going back more than 20 years The development process has been very productive, and we’re excited to see these new LSRs deliver big process improvements to our customers.”
