At Medtec Europe 2016 Arburg is showing its cleanroom medical technology application, Allrounder 470 A, on stand 7B03 in Hall 7
During Medtec Europe, Arburg’s cleanroom version of an electric Allrounder 470 A will be used to produce Y-connectors made from PMMA for use in intravenous drip therapy.
At the show the Allrounder 470 A will use an 8-cavity mould from Männer to demonstrate the production of Y-connectors for infusion therapy in a cycle time of around twelve seconds.
The company said one of the highlights will be lateral injection by means of a needle-type shut-off nozzle to produce a high surface quality on the part.
The exhibit will also feature an extended conveyor belt with a tunnel cover for docking with the cleanroom.
Sven Kitzlinger, application engineering medical technology at Arburg, said: "Based on the example of the production of Y-connectors for use in intravenous drip therapy, we will be demonstrating a production-efficient clean room concept.
"The electric machine and the complex mould are perfectly matched to one another. The production cell can be docked with a clean room with ease. This saves space and costs in comparison with clean room production."
