After winning a place at Innovate 2016, family-run manufacturer, Morgan Innovation & Technology will showcase its haptics glove prototype this year’s show.
Haptic Glove
The company, in conjunction with the University of Southampton is developing a haptic system for the hand that will provide individuals with a sense of touch. The product is initially being developed to help stroke patients during rehabilitation.
The glove was recently featured on Sky’s swipe programme. The show had CEO Nigel Clarke being interviewed with presenter Gemma Morris trying on the glove.
It works by supplying various stimulations to the hand and fingers. The stimulations can be requested from a predefined list of options or generated depending on the patient’s hand movements and gestures within a virtual world.
